Planetary attributions

Now we are busy with all kinds of herbal material the question arises to which planet the materials we use belong. This is a complicated subject because various answers are possible. Take for example the Strawberry, which for its very sweetness and summer joy can be placed under Venus. But the red color would place it under Mars (god of war and blood). Because of its royal purple, Lilac would be Jupitarian, but for its sweet scent there is also something to say for Venus. The Coconut is placed under the moon because it is white, and for its milk, which is a nourishing aspect which falls under the great goddess which is moon, and because a coconut is so hard, Saturn also comes into play. Planetary attributions can also have to do with the body part upon which the plant works when taken in as a medicine. The table we have here is basically an adaptiation from the data you can also find in Steven R Smith's 'Weylundts book of incense'.
